homage General Charlie Flynn senior Commander nice H Army Hawaii United States Army Hawaii senior listed visor at some point in your lives you may have heard the expression our children are our future it's a Timeless saying that certainly holds true today which is why we need to ensure we are meeting our obligations to grow the next Croatian great leaders for our community and for our nation there are many potential influences out there that can impact our children's education but nothing is powerful than parents and when it comes to making a difference every day counts  the recent discussions with public school administrators and Educators who with our children their share their support and understanding for the challenges that military families face they've also shared with me for areas where they need our help first parents participation in parent-teacher conferences attendance at these Comfortis is critical in order to be a part of our children's education on fire  banasky commanders at all levels to provide Soldiers the opportunity turn their children schedule parent-teacher conferences parental involvement in a child's education is the biggest investment that pays large dividends as it's our responsibility to ensure that our soldiers in the families have the opportunity to achieve academic excellence second reinforcing positive relationships between parents student and Educators there has been a number answer to in which both students and parents have exhibited Behavior not appropriate for school environment soldiers are professionals and we resent the Army each and every time we interact with others in our community our children see and follow our example so we have a responsibility to ensure that they see it treating each other with dignity and respect I stand ready as do all leaders in the United States Army Hawaii to support our schools efforts to maintain or indiscipline both with the students and their parents sir attendance just as soldiers are expected to be present for Duty our children need to be in school in order to learn this is a no-brainer you want to score you have to be in the game there is no doubt that regular attendance is absolutely necessary to ensuring academic success the Hawaii what mean of Education the developing measures to take strong action for chronic absenteeism and we will support the reference School attendance is one of the most powerful predictors of Student Success and we all need to help children of military families strive for excellence and when it comes to learning every day counts last week he cheer Federal survey cards are distributed every public school student has part of the federal impact aid program these cards equal money and additional services for our children survey cards provide information to the US Department of Education and the Department of Defense for the federal government to reimburse school districts that lose 40 tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt federal property including military installations and other Federal lands funds are used for teacher salaries school programs textbooks equipment and supplies the survey information also determines the number of federal connected students in public school systems and may determine funding from additional sources for programs that can benefit military students a lot of committed parents and Educators out there who are working hard to make a difference for the children in our community Jane engage in their education please work with your child's teachers School administrators and the Army School liaison officers if you have any concerns but it comes to education for children's future every day counts
