everyday your kid comes home a complaint about homework what is a 6 or 16 it's always the same play just watching TV and play my game boy you didn't know  and the list goes on and on things when they come home and get what are few and far between and trust me teachers like me we are not assigning homework to torture parents the four main reasons for homework first practice memorize review old material introduce new material and work on projects right there that put the parent on the same page as me the teacher designed to keep a child to bring active when they're not in school and give them something to do on their own which is key in developing Independence now that you know why homework is and it still doesn't help you how to get them to do it so I got a few ideas first of all ditch the desk it's important for children to have a table ask somewhere but they don't need to do all their work there they just spent all day sitting and one why would they want to come home and sit in the same position if you work in a cubicle or drive a taxi the last thing you what does come home and sit in the same position you've been in all day your kid feels the same way so let him work someplace else other than the desk great place to work is the table in the kitchen they can be near a while you're cooking cleaning paying bills taking out the trash or Best Yet reading and then your modeling good study how Mustang another great place to work is it a coffee table in the living room as long as it's quiet your kid can sit on the couch or sit on the floor which all kids give him a chance to relax their bodies  call my true favorite place especially for younger kids is where else but the floor floors play dirty so I recommend buying a cheap mat using a beach towel in a blanket roll it up throw it in the corner called the homework mat when your kid comes home and grab it throw it down and they get right to work I guarantee it'll increase motivation to be near you so why not let them quiet turn off your phone take out something to read even if it's just for 30 minutes to 1 hour when they're done congratulate them put it in their backpack or the homework Boulder ready for the next day the desk only use it sometimes and I promise you have an easier time getting that homework done
