Early Childhood Special Education Program
 

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program and related services are for children, ages 3 to 5 years old, who have met the state of Hawaii’s eligibility criteria due to developmental delays. Eligibility for children is determined by criteria that has been established by the state Hawaii.

 

Solomon Elementary provides Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) for 3 to 5 year old children who have special needs.  ECSE students receive services through specially designed instruction that is based on an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) that address the student’s unique needs.

 

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) students receive instruction for basic skills that involve pre-language arts and pre-math, as well as basic communication and developmental skills needed. Instruction is done with intervention or modification that meet the needs of each special need student based on the student’s IEP

 

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) students may also meet the criteria to receive services for speech-language, counseling, physical therapy and/or occupational therapy.
