Solomon Elementary is a Title I school. We receive additional funding from the US Dept. of Education to support student achievement for all students. We qualify for this funding because of the high number of students who meet the criteria for free or reduced lunch prices.
The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on the challenging state academic standards.
How Solomon Uses Title I Funds
We have hired a Math Coach, a Reading Coach, an RtI Coordinator, a Curriculum Coordinator, and Para-professional tutors to help support the students. We provide professional development for teachers as well as workshops for parents. We purchase materials for our Reading Wonders program, math curriculum and materials to enhance the Common Core State Standards.
