Due:
Please watch Mrs. Craig's video first, and then create a dance with a beginning, middle, and end.
I recommend: 1-2 moves or steps for the beginning, 3-4 for the middle, and 1-2 for the end.
For example:
Beginning: A twirl into a leap.
Middle: push arms from side to side, a big jump, twirl on the floor, and one more jump.
End: arm wraps around torso, and then hands up to the sky.
Feel free to find some fun instrumental music to dance to, or maybe your favorite (school appropriate song)?
The style of the dance can be whatever you want! Ballet, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, robot-like, pop n lock, Fortnite moves, etc. Just have fun and be creative!
You got this, 1st grade! If you have any questions or need any help, please email me [email protected] :)

Due:
Please watch the video of Mrs. Craig first. Then, pick one shape: triangle, circle, rectangle, heart, square, or oval to turn into a dance!
Start the dance with a frozen image of your shape using your body, do a dance that matches that shape (I.e: circle dance may be more round or swirly/twirly, and a square dance may be more sharp and boxy). Then do however many creative moves making your body into that shape for the middle part of the dance. Lastly, end your dance with your body in a frozen position of that shape. You can play music to dance if that helps you :)
You got this, 1st grade! If you have any confusion, questions, or concerns, please email me: [email protected]
HELPFUL HINT: You must create the video for the assignment on Flipgrid, THEN hit submit/complete assignment on the Google Classroom side. It is a 2 step process. You don't have to worry about attaching anything to the Google Classroom assignment. Simply record video in Flipgrid in the designated spot, and then hit submit/complete on GC. Hope this helps :)

Due:
Please watch Mrs. Craig's video first. Then decide, do you want to perform: the Hukilau Hula dance, sing the song Hola Hola, or do your ballet interpretation of the Australian ballet's take on Little Red Riding Hood. Only pick one to record yourself doing. If you chose the Hukilau, here is a louder recording of the song for you (start at :20):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVAd5EBR8Us . Here is a whimsical classical song for the Little Red Riding Hood ballet dance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne4Thx9xBco . You have 2 mins to do 1 of the 3 above, but you do not have to make it last the whole 2 minutes; just hit end whenever you are done. You're going to do great!
