Aloha!

Welcome to my teacher website! Below you will find some information about me as well as information about the classroom that your child spends time in each day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail or through the school.

Here's a little about me... I am a long, long way from home! I am a New Englander. I grew up in Connecticut and went to college at the University of New Hampshire where I graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in English Teaching. After college, I moved to Boston to complete a graduate program in Elementary Education from Boston College; I graduated from Boston College in 2014 with a Master's degree in Elementary Education.  From Boston, I travelled to San Juan, Puerto Rico where I lived this past year working in a private school on the island.

After leaving Puerto Rico, I moved to Hawaii.  Although this is my second year here at Solomon, this is my third year working in a second-grade classroom.  Second grade is one of my favorite grade-levels...even when I was a student myself! We have some exciting topics that we will be covering in C-29 and I look forward to working with you and your child this year!

In C27, we have been talking about different ways we can make our brains grow. This is called growth mindset. We read an article from Time For Kids called "Change Your Mind," which talks about what people can do to boost their brain power. We learned and discussed ways we can change our mindset when we problem-solve.

For example:
Instead of saying..."I made a mistake."
Try saying... "Mistakes help me learn."
