About SPED

Special Education

Special education services at Solomon Elementary are provided to students with special needs through specially designed instruction that is based on an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) that address the student’s unique needs.

Special education students receive instruction for language arts and math using the school wide reading/math programs and have access to WIN time (What I Need) intervention support. Instruction is done to meet the needs of each special needs student based on the student’s IEP, with emphasis on developing the students’ understanding of the Common Core Standards as the special needs students’ unique needs are being met.

Special education students may also meet the criteria to receive services for speech-language, counseling, physical therapy and/or occupational therapy.
