Welcome to Makerspace! This year we will be doing the following Projects throughout all the grade levels K-5th grade. We will first be starting with Stop motion Videos. In quarter two we will be working on creating yard games and creating Rube Goldberg machines. Within quarter three we will be creating animals and robots our of recycled material. The end of the year projects are a surprise! Hope you are excited to see all your students will achieved throughout this year in Makerspace! 

 

Although there are no formal standards for Making, there are 4 standards which are the focus of Maker Space from the ISTE Standards:

ISTE Standards for Students

• Standard 1: Empowered Learner. Students understand the fundamental concepts of technology operations, demonstrate the ability to choose, use and troubleshoot current technologies, and are able to transfer their knowledge to explore emerging technologies.

• Standard 4: Innovative Designer. Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions. 

• Standard 5: Computational Thinker. Students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions.

• Standard 6: Creative Communicator. Students choose the appropriate tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication.

Please see the flyer on our last activities that we will creating for this last semester! Kids have enjoyed doing all activities this year! Creating yard games was a huge success and kids loved playing all of the games at yard day!
