On Friday, 8 of our 5th graders participated in District Science Fair! They were the top boards selected during our school level Science Fair and they went onto participate in our District Science Fair. There was a total of 7 schools and 34 participants. Student scientist were interviewed by multiple judges from various community partners and participated in a fun STEM activity. The following 5th graders who participated in District Science Fair are Cohen C., Noah H., Jayla W., Benjamin B., Dylan J., Jovilyn A., Ricardo A., and Mya S.
Jayla and Jovilyn received the Community Partner award from Hawaiian Airlines. Hawaiian Airlines felt that their projects were applicable to their company as Jayla did her project on ingredients in cookies and Jovilyn did her project on types of glue. Hawaiian Airlines said they are always looking at different ingredients to add to their meals and they are always trying to use appropriate tools to fix their airplanes.
Cohen got the award for "Catchiest Phrase!" He was selected by the other student scientist who participated in District Fair!
