Updated COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidance

The Department's COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidance has been updated and posted to our website.

These updates are based on the Department of Health and CDC's updated guidance for K-12 schools and take effect as of 2:15 p.m., Monday, Aug. 15, 2022 (when the guidance was published on our public website).

Please reference the summary of significant changes on page 3 of the document (see blue box), which include:

  • No longer requiring quarantine following non-school exposures.
  • Prioritizing screening testing for high risk activities, before/after events, and following breaks.
  • Removing the recommendations for ‘ohana bubbles or cohorting, physical distancing, and sleeping spaces.
Mahalo for your continued support and cooperation in helping to keep our schools safe and healthy.
