3rd Grade Performing Arts Assignments

Please watch Mrs. Craig's video first. Then record a video of yourself comparing & contrasting two of the Archetypes: superheroes, people seeking the fountain of youth, and good people vs bad people, from the video. Also, compare & contrast two of the themes from the video: superpowers, good vs. evil, & the fountain of youth.

Please watch Mrs. Craig's video first (it will help the following make more sense!). You will be singing or playing all of the patterns with your hands (I would pause at end of pattern, and do pattern 4x through)

1) AB Pattern:
Singing: Ew, Wee.
Playing with hands: clap, tap.
2) ABA Pattern:
Singing: Ew, Wee, Ew
Playing with hands: clap, tap, clap
3) AABA Pattern:
Singing: Ew, Ew, Wee, Ew.
Playing with hands: clap, clap, tap, clap.
4)AABB Pattern: Ew, Ew, Wee, Wee.
Singing: Ew, Wee.
Playing with hands: clap, clap, tap, tap.

You can choose to sing half of your patterns, and clap/tap the other half. You can clap & tap all of your patterns if you like. You can sing all of the patterns if you wish...up to you! Just make sure you sing or clap/tap ALL of the patterns in your video: AB, ABA, AABA, and AABB.

HELPFUL HINT: You must create the video for the assignment on Flipgrid, THEN hit submit/complete assignment on the Google Classroom side. It is a 2 step process. You don't have to worry about attaching anything to the Google Classroom assignment. Simply record video in Flipgrid in the designated spot, and then hit submit/complete on GC. Hope this helps :)

Last quarter I asked you to make a video discussing a time you felt a strong emotion AND memory, and to then ACT IT OUT/make a dramatization of it. Most of you just talked about your emotion & memory with no dramatization of it. In this video, I want you to go back and see what memory & feeling you talked about and make up a song, dance, or monologue to dramatize that time. Do not discuss the memory again, just act it out. The following people DID dramatize their's last time & did a great job: Gabby R(Soderstein), Gabby M(Okamoto), Nova D(Freitas), Evan H (Freitas), Carter O (Freitas), & Rylee Z (Fujimoto). If you see your name, you may do a song, dance, or monologue of a different memory than the last video, OR, you may do a final draft video of what you did to act out that feeling/memory & post it here on this thread again, up to you!
